Spring into Spring, Don't Hobble!

mom and daugther playing soccerWith the much-anticipated change in weather in the Cincinnati Tri-State area often comes a renewed interest in health and recreation. Especially concerning outside activities such as running, hiking, and pickleball. However, these activities may also result in injury if you are not properly prepared for the new demands you are placing on your body, which may have been sedentary for most of the winter.

The Power of Prevention

At ProWellness Chiropractic and Rehab, we want to assure you have the most enjoyable, satisfying, and healthy spring and summer possible by offering an injury prevention screen from our licensed physical therapists to assess any physical deficits or asymmetries that may be unbeknownst to you.

This screening is designed to point out potential issues with your gait, range of motion, strength, and movement patterns that may lead to injury and prevent you from doing the activities you want to return to.

What an Injury Prevention Screen Involves

Your injury prevention screen will include two visits with our physical therapists. The first visit will include evaluative and screening tests. At the second visit, we will explain your results and educate you on how you can prevent injury while providing you with individualized home instruction. Your injury prevention screen includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • One-on-one evaluation with our licensed physical therapists
  • Detailed gait analysis of walking or running patterns
  • Isolated range of motion screening of common, injury-prone areas
  • Isolated strength testing of common problem areas
  • Assessment of functional patterns for everyday tasks such as lifting, carrying, etc.
  • Specialized injury prevention program you can do at home
